General information about firework in Germany

  • Buying firework is only allowed for private individuals on the last three days of a year.
  • Shooting firework is only allowed  for private individuals on the day of New Year’s eve (Dec 31).
  • In case you want to have a firework display during the year for a special occasion (e.g. wedding, anniversary, national holiday, etc.) you need to get a special permission from the public order office of the community, in which you want to have the firework display to be set off. This special permission needs to be requested at least 14 days prior to the date of the event and needs to be approved from the public order office.   • If you have a special permission you are allowed to buy firework during the year from us. You can either collect it or get it delivered to your home.
  • The other opportunity is to ask us as pyrotechnicians to set up your firework display for these occasions. Then we will take care of getting all permissions, bureaucracy, arranging and setting up the firework display, cleaning afterwards, insurance, etc..

 

Minimum age and firework categories in Germany

  • There are different so called categories for firework in Germany. This categories are defined by Pyrotechnic Articles Directive 2013/29/EU and the EN 15947 standard.
    • F1: You can buy these with a minimum age of 12 years. All kinds of small firework/ firework for children/teens. These articles can be bought all year long.
    • F2: You can buy these with a minimum age of 18 years. All kinds of consumer cakes, compound boxes, fountains, rockets, firecrackers, etc.. These articles can be bought on the last three days of a year or with a special permission during the year.
    • F3/ F4: You can only buy these with a special licence and expertise.
    • P1/ T1: You can buy these with a minimum age of 18 years. These categories include firework/ pyrotechnical effects for stage and theater as well as other pyrotechnics.
    • P2/ T2: You can only buy these with a special licence and expertise.
